Studio Brief 01 - Secret 7 - Ink/Spin Wheel experiments

Inspired by the explosive beat and drowning track I created some spin wheel paint pieces.

I also wanted to incorporate something completely opposite of what you would expect on a tame impala 7" sleeve. Although they are an indie band and represent that image through their colourful and aesthetic current album covers. I wanted to explore the opposite stereotype of an 'indie' individual.

Rocking Adidas and Ellesse I photographed a model sporting a stereotypical guy who is probably more into house music and top 40 radio. Presenting this image on my chosen track is rather controversial and probably not going to receive much praise if it were to an official album cover of theirs.

Influenced by the repetitive beats throughout the song I duplicated many versions of his shoe, creating an unusual shape.

Cut out collage.

To further on the idea of a collage I printed photos out and created outlines around the figures. This makes them really stand out.

Inspired by the lines of the Tame Impala album cover Currents I created multiple ones and connected and  them at certain points.

Using some urban photography shots I layered them onto sections of the spiral scans. Scanning back in the drawings and photographs added them throughout.
