Studio Brief 02 - Information Design - Design Ideas/Concepts

Design Ideas/Concepts

1. Speeding Kills

For this concept I want to explore the flip side to what information I gathered in the short clip 'Close to the Edge'.

In the clip the main focus is the safety of a child/children when crossing roads and the awareness of cars. For this particular idea I would look from an opposite perspective; being the driver.

Using a sharp hard-hitting tone of voice and minimalistic high impact imagery that expresses the concerns with speeding and the severe consequences. Now, with the target reader shifted, I would be communicating to adults within my design.

Researching into emotional intelligence, emotional manipulation and statistics I could create phrases and terms that make the reader instantly feel gripped and drawn into. Strong serious statements and statistics to back them up could be my strategy - with strong typography and minimalistic imagery to back up the statements whilst controversially communicating infographics.

2. Road Safety

This concept idea would be a straight up interpretation from my chosen clip. Using bright, funky, eccentric art and graphics to express the concerns of road safety - in a childish manor. These are seen in the 80's clip, and I think it would be interesting transferring this theme over into a leaflet format.
