Studio Brief 01 - Secret 7 - Polaroid Development Designs

Inspiration

Inspired by the 1960's/1970's when psychedelic rock first became popular (an influence of tame impala's).
My first idea was to create a design that used an instrument or medium that was also very popular in capturing visuals at the time.

My first thought was POLAROID CAMERAS.

So I began by drawing a few sketches of ideas, layouts and designs.

Here are a few of my favourite shots of some of my favourite artists over the years. Polaroids seem to go hand in hand with particular types of musicians.

Debbie Harry (1979)

Grace Jones (1986)

Madonna (1983)

These are a part of 'New York Polaroids 1976-1989' by Edo Bergoglio.

Throughout the years Polaroids have been used many time by artists to capture a certain essence and atmosphere in the photography they use to represent their music.

Most recently Taylor Swift's 1989 (2014) album features a polaroid as the album cover.

Over the last few months, I myself have been taking instant photographs using my late 90's Polaroid and most recent Fuji Film instax mini 90.

I decided to take some shots, with The Less I Know the Better in mind.

FEEDBACK???
