Following feedback from the presentation crit where the idea of re-shooting using 35mm film was discussed, I decided to take that forward and take further photographs.
This time my concentration was less centred on typography, but the place itself. This felt missing from my set of digital photos so thought it would be interesting to explore a broader vision of what I was capturing this time.
Again the photoshoot was not planned out specifically, heading to the NQ and capturing whatever I feel is representable or true to the area, whether it be celebrating an independent shop, an iconic landmark or architecture.
Many of the shots were taken without the flash, which gives of a darker more grungy feel to them. This was done deliberatly for some shots to capture this vibe as it relates to past influences and eras that are imprinted into the area through music, art and the culture.
Also experimenting with film photography you never know what the outcome of the photograph will be.
However, the majority have come out with a dark purple or blue hue that is something that happens at times with film. Although the hue adds a particular unusual affect onto the photos, editing them to
re-create a more original look is much more appealing.

levels, brightness and contrast, colour balance and saturation were all adjusted using photoshop and lightroom.
