Problem/solution and target audience

After analysing parts of the "Every Book starts with an Idea" it got me thinking about the "Ideally, all books start with a question, the clearer the question, the more precise the answer..." quote and it what mine could be for my book.

The NQ has thrived for the last 30 years and shows no signs of slowing down, it has become very organic and something that cannot just be easily shutdown or ... It's a district that now belongs to the city.

The NQ becoming commercial is the only threat that would effect every aspect of the area. There a few design studios there and if there was to be an influx of commercial business building costs would rise, independent shops would suffer immediately and it would lose its credibility as a unique place filled with art and culture.

The threat of this happening is very real.

Although the majority of these businesses support the style of the area and will most likely respect it, it still could drastically change the area for the worst if this new found popularity to the area turns commercial.

My problem is the threat of it being too commercial and changing into the opposite of what state it is in now; an area built on independence.

My solution to this will be to promote the NQ within my design and output through my publication to keep its message strong and culture alive.

Target Audience

My target audience for this publication is for the people of Manchester who know what the NQ is, possibly live and breathe the NQ, frequently visit the area or want to be a part of the community.

Age range: 18 - 30

With the use of film photography the book might possibly attract a range of people who admire the aesthetic and practice of 35mm.
