A paper texture feeling is something I want to give my design. I feel like a lot of the time with my work I leave it finished as a digital solution and don't necessarily think any further about the physicality aspect.
To avoid this with this my book designs I have decided to order some G.F. Smith stock that mostly possess a type of texture to them so I can layer these on within my design.
I picked the majority of these colours as I feel they address a more younger audience. The brighter colours to me represent the the 80's in a way as they give of that fun, youth-filled, carefree vibe I often see within design work at that time. This could also be a nod to the adult audience that the brief states is a important factor to consider as they also wish the consumer (adults buying the book for their children) - so making it relatable for them is something I am incorporating.
These were chosen so I can experiment with a neutral/simple background a potentially busy design, to create a juxtaposition between the two.
